This web site was created to celebrate the life and achievements of one of Australia’s great Authors, especially of Children’s Books. Born in Eudunda, Colin based some of his stories on the area, and he loved coming back home. We now share some of our experiences with Colin, his wife Rhonda and family with you.
On November 16th 2020 Colin Thiele would have been 100 years old.
Eudunda and the region around it, where Colin was born and grew up are celebrating his 100th Birthday and also the 25th Anniversary of the Unveiling of the sculpture of Colin and Mr. Percival (the pelican) in the Eudunda Gardens.
Initially our celebration was to be a fairly closed event due to COVID-19 restrictions, but things have improved somewhat and we are now happy to announce that anyone interested can attend. It should be a great afternoon, and we are about to publish the schedule.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND PLEASE RSVP TO MARGARET OR DIANE – as we still need to keep the event ‘CovidSafe’.
In other news, the Thiele Family will take over the management of the website, so we look forward to some new information and updates once that has happened.
MEMORIES OF A GREAT MAN
We would like to add another page or two to this website of Colin’s.
If you would like to send your stories/memories to WebMaster and put in the subject line – “Memories of Colin” or “Reviews of Colin’s Books” we would be happy to add them to this website as long as the family are happy with them.
